IT and security for rural hospitals and clinics.

Rural hospitals carry the same HIPAA obligations and cyber risks as large health systems, usually with a fraction of the IT staff. f8 Tech becomes your IT department, or the extra hands your IT team has been asking for.

Where are you today?

No IT director, or yours is retiring

We become your IT department.

On Complete Care, f8 Tech takes ownership of your technology: the help desk, the network, security, backups, vendors and the systems your clinicians depend on. You get a whole team for less than the cost of building one.

You have an IT team that is stretched thin

We help carry the load.

Co-managed IT gives your IT director more expertise and capacity without more headcount. Many hospitals start with one project, such as a network upgrade or server replacement, and keep us on from there.

What we take care of

Everything a hospital's IT department handles, with security and documentation that hold up when the auditors come.

  • HIPAA-minded security. Access controls, protection, monitoring and the documentation to show it.
  • BAAs signed. We put the business associate agreement in place before we touch patient data.
  • Cerner support. We work with Cerner (Oracle Health) every day at our hospital clients.
  • Help desk for every department. Plain-English help for nurses, business office staff and administrators.
  • Backup and recovery. So a failure or ransomware attack does not stop patient care.
  • Network, cabling and cameras. Structured cabling, access control and security cameras from a Texas-licensed team.
  • Vendor management. We deal with your software and equipment vendors so your staff does not have to.
Client story

A retirement that could have been a crisis

When a rural Texas hospital's longtime IT director retired, leadership faced a hard choice: search for a replacement in a small town, or find another way. They moved their IT department to f8 Tech on Complete Care.

Today we run their IT end to end, including support for the Cerner system at the center of patient care, and their leadership has one call to make when they need anything.

Part of the rural health community

We attend Texas Organization of Rural & Community Hospitals (TORCH) events to stay close to the challenges rural hospitals face, from staffing to cybersecurity to the systems that keep a small hospital running.

Questions hospitals ask us

Will you sign a business associate agreement (BAA)?

Yes. We sign BAAs with our healthcare clients and handle patient data the way HIPAA expects.

Do you support Cerner?

Yes. Both of the rural hospitals we work with run Cerner, now Oracle Health, and we support it alongside the rest of their environment.

We already have an IT team. Do we have to replace them?

No. With co-managed IT we work alongside your staff and take on what they do not have the time or specialized expertise for. Your IT director stays in charge.

What happens after hours?

Our office is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central, and our clients have on-call support after hours. Hospitals do not close at five, and neither do we.

How long is the contract?

Our managed services agreements let you leave with 30 days' written notice, even mid-term. We would rather earn your business every month.

Let's talk about your hospital

An assessment is a conversation, not a sales pitch. We learn how your hospital runs, you learn how we work, and we both decide if f8 Tech is the right fit.
